If you are contemplating the purchase of a condominium in Aventura, consider yourself warned. The aforementioned group is either attempting to extort money from me or standing by while others on the board and in the management office participate in that endeavor.

Make no mistake, this is an extremely serious matter.

I've published this website knowing fully that it is sure to drive down the value of my residence at Mystic Pointe as well as those of my neighbors. But there is a greater principle involved. It's about alerting the community, as well as prospective home-buyers in Aventura, of the grave atrocities taking place at Mystic Pointe 100.

I'd dropped off or mailed my Mystic Pointe 100 monthly maintenance payments on time, every month for 84 consecutive months. Precisely seven years. That ended in February, 2011, when I received notification from a dishonest and unimportant law firm in Plantation, Fla., called "Frank, Weinberg, and Black," that it had filed a lien on my Mystic Pointe 100 property, because, according to them, my maintenance payments for July, 2010, and August, 2010, were not received.

Total bullshit. I dropped those checks off like I'd done every month. If Evelyn Perl made an honest mistake, she should have picked up the telephone to tell me she misplaced, lost, or was otherwise negligent in the handling of my checks. That would have been a fair gesture. Instead, she instructed the Association's law firm to file a lien. It sickens me that I've contributed to her $80,000 salary since 2004. I wouldn't hire that odious, disgustingly and wretchedly obese guttersnipe to mop the floors or even clean the toilets at my office.

I reached out in March, 2011, to Joel Gray, who confirmed that if I dropped off payment for July and August (which I already did last summer) plus February and March, my balance with the building would return to zero. I have a digital audio recording of that conversation. So I canceled payment on the checks I dropped off in July and August, as they were never presented for payment, and I presented a new bank check the following day. But Evelyn Perl refused to confirm a zero balance, trying instead to swindle me for late fees and attorneys costs.

Joel Gray cowardly has not returned any of the four telephone messages I've left for him since my interaction with Evelyn Perl. (A gross dereliction of his duty).

**When I encountered Mr. Gray in the parking garage on April 3, his reply to me was that his answering machine "doesn't work very well" and that "it was Sunday and [he] doesn't work on Sundays." He was walking arm-in-arm at the time with a sickly/deathly looking woman who appeared anorexic and between about 90 and 110 years old.**

David Schepps promised during a subsequent telephone conversation to help, but he ultimately did nothing more than repeat in a blustery tirade what Evelyn Perl told me.

I then left a voice-mail for Lori Lefkowitz, indicating I had an "emergency" that required her attention. More than a week has passed and she has not returned my message.

This band of irredeemable reprobates is doing nothing more than dishonoring themselves, their families, and Mystic Pointe 100 with their indefensible cowardice, blatant thievery, and shameful unrepentance -- all the while crippling the value, perhaps irreparably, of every apartment in the tower. (It's mind-boggling how Joel Gray, David Schepps, Lori Lefkowitz, and Evelyn Perl wear the "condo commando" moniker as a badge of honor, entirely oblivious that the expression is a pejorative).

MysticPointeAventura100.com will not go away until Gray, Schepps, Lefkowitz, and Perl each issue me a handwritten apology, reimburse me in full for the stop-payment fees I incurred on my maintenance checks for July 2010 and August 2010, and clear all of the bogus charges from my account.

Ask yourself: Are these the people you want overseeing your condo association? Are these the people you want as your neighbors? Don't take chances. Don't buy at Mystic Pointe 100.

UPDATE (JULY 2011):
It's important to note that I've received quite a few panicky, sloppily crafted letters from FWB, threatening legal action over the presence of this website. The letters assert, among other silly, outlandish things, that the content contained herein is defamatory, which it clearly and unequivocally is not. The letters specifically reference my opinion that the companion with whom Mr. Gray was walking at the time of our encounter on April 3, 2011, looked "anorexic" and "deathly."

(I later learned the identity of the woman to be "Marcia Gray").

So, below, for all the world to see, is video of Mr. Gray with that very same companion, departing a restaurant in Dania Beach, Fla., on a recent Saturday evening. As you'll plainly see, the woman is walking neither fully erect nor with much awareness of her surroundings. Further, she is abnormally thin, which is precisely how a deathly person or a person suffering from anorexia would appear. Moreover, she cannot even fasten her own seatbelt or enter the silver Honda Accord (Florida tag "U17 BHT") without considerable assistance from Mr. Gray.

Please watch this video and decide for yourself if the woman depicted is lithe, bouncy, and vibrant, or if perhaps she indeed does look "anorexic" and "deathly," as she did to me.

UPDATE (JULY 2011):
All of the feedack I've received pertaining to this website, save for the letters from FWB, has been overwhelmingly positive. Thievery within condo boards throughout South Florida, as everyone is acutely aware, and has been well-documented in the media, is rampant. As I've experienced, first-hand, it exists at Mystic Pointe 100.

In the event anyone reading this website believes similarly to FWB, which would be just as laughable, that my description of Mr. Gray's companion, which clearly falls within the guidelines of the opinion privilege, is defamatory, let me say the following.

I did not single out Mr. Gray's companion for ridicule or scorn. I wrote an honest and accurate portrayal of the woman's appearance, as I saw it, and as I would describe it to law enforcement if I'd observed her committing a crime. To write definitively that the woman was "anorexic," if she weren't, would be libelous. But that's not what I did. I wrote that she resembled in her physical appearance that of an anorexic because she was so strikingly skinny -- to the point, it appeared to me, she could die rather imminently.

My intention for doing so was wholly to assist fellow residents of MP100 in easily identifying Mr. Gray, so they could let him know something his parents should have instilled in him nearly a century ago, that stealing is wrong -- morally, ethically, and legally. It was my hope someone would prevail upon him to delete the bogus charges from my MP100 unit ownership account at once.

The harrassing letters I've received from FWB reflect to me nothing more than Mr. Gray's dissatisfaction with the woman's appearance. As for that, there's nothing I can do to help.

Similarly, if the woman were terribly overweight, I'd have described her appearance as "bulimic-looking." In the same vein, when my elderly relatives are repulsed by the sight of me in torn Abercrombie & Fitch jeans, and decry that I look like a "homeless person," all I can do is shrug my shoulders and agree; I can't successfully sue for defamation. If that's their opinion, so be it.

In my heart of hearts, I believe Mr. Gray, Ms. Perl, and many of the other folks at Mystic Pointe 100 need a hobby. (When my grandfather was Joel Gray's age, he was taking my grandmother to Broadway shows, jettisoning off in limos to Atlantic City, staying in four-star resorts in Europe, and spending Sunday afternoons with me in box seats at Yankee Stadium; by comparison, Gray, figuratively so, trolls the lobby of Mystic Pointe 100, looking to agitate and annoy anyone within earshot).

Rather than badger honest people in a desperate and pathetic attempt to feel relevant, Gray, Perl, and the rest of their co-conspirators ought to do some good with their woefully boring lives. Maybe feed the homeless in downtown Miami or walk dogs staying at one of the local animal shelters; there is nothing noble, envious or admirable whatsoever about feckless and decrepit 80- and 90-year-olds strutting around the common areas of a condo building in South Florida, acting like iron-fisted rulers of all they survey at some wondrous geritocracy.

The truly important people in the world are the ones who give back, the ones who are compassionate, the ones who cure disease, the ones who work with disabled children, the ones who teach, the ones who abate poverty, the ones who spread democracy, the ones who conduct themselves with dignity and honor; the ones who con and fib and deceive are nothing, they are worthless scum.

Attempting to fleece me for a few dollars is utterly disgraceful. In truth, it's something for which I believe these people should be incarcerated. The ringleaders of this extortion attempt, Joel Gray and Evelyn Perl, rightfully deserve to spend their final few years on Earth rotting in dirty prison cells with all the other dregs of society.

Ms. Perl and Mr. Gray could have made this situation right by picking up a telephone and calling me. Instead, they chose to spend the Association's money on legal fees. To me, that's a completely reckless use of money. Further, to waste the time of busy judges, court clerks, and other civil servants is equally irresponsible, and speaks to a greater, corrosive evil that has bankrupted our country's federal government.

UPDATE (OCTOBER 2011):
The property in question was foreclosed upon by Circuit Court Judge David Miller on October 27, 2011. FWB sent a green lawyer named Jill Berkman to the summary judgment hearing, at which my request for additional time to hire an attorney was denied. (I had my father's death certificate in hand as proof for Mr. Miller that I'd been preoccupied dealing with matters related to the estate).

Ms. Berkman will quickly learn, just as all the fresh-faced attorneys with whom Scott Rothstein liked to surround himself, that associating with morally compromised law firms and shady clients will stick with her for the entirety of her legal career.

UPDATE (APRIL 2012)
Naturally, I filed an objection to the subsequent foreclosure sale, intent on convincing Mr. Miller and all those present in his courtroom that the efforts of Gray, Perl, and their co-conspirators were nothing more than a bumbled attempt at extortion.

Finally, some justice. At long last, the scam is publicly exposed. Indeed, Mr. Miller agreed foul play was involved, decreeing that Frank, Weinberg, and Black had assessed a wildly inflated cost to the Association for its legal fees.

A staggering 346% of what Mr. Miller deemed "customary" for such a situation!

Three hundred and forty six percent!!

Wow. That takes temerity. That takes balls.

As such, Mr. Miller ordered FWB to send me every penny of the overage, which it did -- a whopping $2948.00.

Clearly, this caper was never about the hundreds tacked onto my Mystic Pointe 100 account, but rather the thousands the perpetrators sought on the back end.

Mr. Miller's ruling begged so many questions in my mind. What would Joel Gray's take of the excess money have been? How about Evelyn Perl? And the minor players, Schepps, Lefkowitz, and Berkman, or were they mere stooges, dopey simpletons and ignoramuses in all of this? How does FWB continue to stay in business? Why hasn't the Florida Bar levied severe sanctions against the firm? Is there no regulatory body that cares about embezzlement? Why are the other owners at Mystic Pointe 100, on whom this travesty reflects so, so poorly, not incensed by these abhorrent acts? Do they not care? Were they even apprised of the proceedings? Which others were complicit? And most importantly, when will my apology come?

Sadly, I doubt the truth will ever surface.

UPDATE (SEPTEMBER 2012)
Justice at last. Evelyn Perl has been FIRED and summarily escorted off the Mystic Pointe grounds.

UPDATE (DECEMBER 2012)
Frank, Weinberg, and Black has been FIRED by Mystic Pointe 100.

UPDATE (JANUARY 2013)
Gray, Lefkowitz, and Schepps have been FIRED, along with the rest of the corrupt board, in a special election, and the entire group is under investigation by the new management team.

UPDATE (AUGUST 2013)
FWB's baseless, idiotic defamation lawsuit, brought on behalf of two unabashed professional cons -- Joel Gray and Evelyn Perl -- has been DISMISSED in the Circuit Court Of The 11th Judicial Circuit In And For Miami Dade, County, Florida.
